Mission Statement

The mission of Off Center Thrift and Gift is to offer service to the people of the greater Central Valley area regardless of race, origin, religion or gender. The Thrift and Gift work encourages the growth of its volunteers and the people they serve; encourages fellowship while serving; and provides an opportunity for others to serve those in need.

Many around town have felt the loss of the Emanuel Hospital Thrift Shop and the important role it has played in our community for 45 years. Although its closure has left a void, our new non-profit, Off Center Thrift and Gift is coming to life to fill that hole in our hearts.

The now defunct Emanuel Thrift Shop was a proven success. Now, with the support of the same volunteers and the energy and vitality of many, many new volunteers, this project has the potential of greatly surpassing even the wildest dreams of the old shop.

To answer the question of "Which charity are we supporting?" several will benefit. With the net revenue of Off Center Thrift and Gift, many worthwhile charities will receive financial gifts. This will truly be a "community treasure chest" to help people throughout Turlock and surrounding areas.

Many have asked how they can help us with our worthwhile endeavor. We need your time, your friends' time, your energy, your gently worn items, retired home furnishings, and cash donations.
